New Owner Training Regime

  • I've played hattrick before but lost my team due to inactivity after getting deployed. I just signed up for another team and hope to get one within a few days. So my question is, what do you think of training keepers as a new team. I only have to purchase two trainees, and since they train quickly can turn around and sell one while keeping the other as my main squad keeper.

Then after a season or two I'll have made a bit of money and have a high quality keeper, and at that point I can change training types and buy quality trainees for PM or Scoring. With the keeper tools being fairly accurate now I think I may be able to pull this off.

Has anyone tried this and had any success?

  • Yeah I was thinking it pretty easy. I trained scorers before and made a few mistakes and was low funds wise. So I thought I would try to be a little smarter this time around.

I heard that unless your YS was an excellent that you should only pull keepers. How true is this?

  • Thats how I started, and it set me back by at least one or two seasons. With PM training, you're really positively affecting your team as they progress in training. I suggest doing that right off the bat.

As you are only pulling for one skill compared to 7 with outfielders, it sounds logical.

I did this for the first season I had my team and made a little money on selling Inadequates and Passables, while pulling a solid who was my starter until I upgraded earlier this season. I don't think you will sell many Inadequates nowadays, but Passables and Solids will sell.

  • I've bought two 17 passable keepers, although both were far more expensive than my scoring trainees I bought before. One's about to pop to solid so atleast I got a deal on one of them.

  • That's what I did. I trained a keeper up to titanic and then switched to scoring. Now I have 3 18 year old outstanding strikers who continue to get better each week. :D

  • GK training is probably the simplest training regime in HT, and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
